Act 188 (SB 488) Effective 6/10/2004: Defines "owner operator" as regards motor carriers.
 
Act 227 (HB 700) Effective 6/14/2004: Clarifies the prescriptive period for filing of notice for Second Injury Fund reimbursement.
 
Act 256 (HB 790): Effective 6/15/2004: Establishes the Nineteenth Judicial District Court, as venue for appeals of Second Injury Board decisions.
 
Act 257 (HB 823): Effective 6/15/2004: Requires disputes be resolved according to the medical reimbursement schedule.
 
Act 258 (HB 825) Effective 6/15/2004: Provides for the time frame for receiving prior written approval from the Second Injury Board.
 
Act 261 (HB 908) Effective 6/15/2004: Repeals provisions allowing for the release of earnings records and information of workers' compensation claimants.
 
Act 293 (HB 1698) Effective 7/1/2004: Revises Second Injury Fund Liability determination provisions.
 
Act 335 (HB 820) Effective (6/18/2004): Provides for the chairman of the Workers' Compensation Advisory Council.
 
Act 341 (HB 1037) Effective 6/18/2004: Modifies numerous procedural rules, including officially allowing for the admissibility of certified medical records and establishing an additional Mediation Conference (the second conference is mandatory and is to be held within 30 days of trial).
 
Act 416 (HB 821) Effective 6/24/2004: Provides for civil penalties for collecting workers' compensation premium from employees.
 
Act 534 (HB 907) Effective 6/25/2004: Allows the director to collect data for the Medical Reimbursement Schedule.
 
Act 554 (HB 1356) Effective 8/15/2004: Provides for the payment of medical expenses by available health insurance when the workers' compensation claim has been denied.
 
Act 647 (HB 432) Effective 7/5/2004: Changes the amount of attorney fees on workers' compensation awards to twenty percent of the recovered amount.
